Willie Bell Shoop, 97, of Pine Bluff, died January 4, 1998, at Sunchase Skilled Care Facility.
Born October 28, 1900, in Ashley County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis West and Ada Riley West.
She was reared and educated in Ashley County. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church.
She married James J. Shoop on July 8, 1917, in Monticello, and they moved to Pine Bluff in 1918. He preceded her in death in 1964.
She is also preceded in death by a son, J.D. Shoop; a daughter, Admar Duckett; five sisters, Lillian Cogbill, Fannie Cogbill, Mattie Cogbill, Lottie Brown and Jimmie West; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, William Howard Shoop of Lufkin, Texas; three daughters, Evelee Tennison of Yucca Valley, California, Barbara Dell S. Sipes and Joan S. Harris both of Pine Bluff; a brother, the Rev. Hallie West of Pine Bluff; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Graceland Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Woods officiating.
Arrangements are by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
