From the Rooks County Record, February 11, 1887 "Mrs. Messina(sic?) Massee of Webster aged 61 died on Thursday of last week at 11 o'clock p.m. from a stroke of paralysis being sick only four days. The funeral was held on Sunday at the Union church, the services being conducted by Rev. _______*.

C. B. Massee, her son, came from Beloit last week to attend to the last sad duties to the departed."

*This appears to be J.S. McNough, but I can't read it well. I can find a J.J. McComb (no J.S.) in the 1885 census, but no McNough.

Her son was actually Charles P. Massee.
