Margie Ward Shirley passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday, February 9, 2014 of causes incident age.

She was born on September 14, 1921, in Riverside, UT to Eberhardt and Wilhemina Smith Ward. She was a happy child with hobbies that included music and laughing with friends.

She married Ross Shirley of Salem, Idaho, in 1947, following his service in World War II.

Margie was influential in teaching her children music as well as how to enjoy and laugh with other people.

She was an active member of the LDS Church, working many years in a variety of positions as well as many years in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Having lost their home in the Teton Dam Disaster of 1976, Ross and Margie built a new home in Wilford, ID and spent their remaining years in that area.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her tenderness and compassion, coupled with her wit and humor, combined to inspire the lonely and fill the cups of those in need, always with a smile and lots of laughter. Her legacy lives in the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Neal (Cathie Chandler) of Wilford, ID; Dale of Salt Lake City, UT; Scott (Jan Kinghorn) Rexburg, ID; and Janet (Arden Howell) Salt Lake City, UT.

Funeral services will held on Thursday, February 13 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilford LDS Chapel with Bishop John Sharp officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, 61North 1st East, in Rexburg and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
