Death of Samuel Judd
Samuel Judd, father of Mrs. Charles C. Nutting of 618 North East avenue passed away at Long Beach, Cal., on Thursday, October 26. Funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. Nutting this Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
Mr. Judd was born in Illinois on July 20, 1840, but at an early age went to Marine Hills, Minn., when the state was still a territory. There he became a pioneer in the lumber business, being engaged actively in the firm of Walker, Judd & Veazie.
He married Amelia T. Flaherty in 1874 and later went to St. Paul to live. In 1891 they came to Chicago where he entered business. For the past fifteen years they have made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Charles F. Nutting, going, to California to live three years ago.
He is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. Charles G. Nutting. He was a loving father and grandfather, his entire life being devoted to home and family.
