James was born July 15, 1914, at Trusdale, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Heschke. When he was a year old the family moved to Stacyville, Iowa, where he spent the greater share of his life.
He attended the public school in this county, and also attended the churches in Stacyville and David.
He is survived by his father, who has lived the past six years at Storm Lake, Iowa; his brother, Charles, of Ottertail, Minnesota, and his sisters: Mrs. Morton Herron, of Flagler, Colorado; Mrs. Eugene Hunn of Kasson, Minnesota, and Mrs. Ellery Kirchgatter, of St. Ansgar, all of whom were present at the funeral. He is survived also by 10 nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, conducted by Rev. Bodenham of Riceville, and burial was beside his mother, who died 18 years ago, on the family lot in the Stacyville cemetery.
