Alma (nee Lambert) Fender "Boga", passed away at Altercare of Hartville on January 14, 2008. Alma was born July 12, 1919 in Sparta, Tennessee. She retired from Ohio Bell after 24 years of service and was a member of the Ohio Bell Pioneers. Preceded in death by her husband, Troy Fender in 1997; parents, Nodia and William Lambert; brother, Eugene Lambert; and sister, Catherine Rollins. Survived by her daughter, Norma (Jim) Gazdacko; her grandsons, Jim (Joann) and Jon (Karen) Gazdacko, the loves of her life. Boga leaves seven great grandchildren, Allyson, Andrew, Troy, Jocelyn, Adam, Cameron and Addison Gazdacko, who always brought a smile to her face and a sparkle to her eyes. Boga loved each and every one of you very much and you were all very special to her. Alma leaves her very special sister, Helen Scott, and her wonderful family, along with many nieces and nephews in Tennessee, Akron, and North Carolina. The family would like to thank Altercare of Hartville for their amazing love they showed to Mom "Boga". The staff made her last days peaceful and comforting. The love of all the nurses and aides was extraordinary. Tia, she waited on you. We would also like to thank Hospice of Summa for all their wonderful, caring, and thoughtful things they did to make this time easier for the family. Funeral services will be held Friday 1:00 p.m. at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, with Pastor Bill Hostutler officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
