He was born 4/11/1928 to Wallace and Grace West on their farm in Carlton, MN. Graduated from West H.S., Mpls in 1946 and the U of M in 1954. Doug and Donna raised their family on the beautiful Great Plains of SD. Doug worked for SD Game, Fish and Parks from 1953 to 1971, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for 20 years until retirement. Preceded in death by wife, Donna; his parents & sister, Murriel.
