Ada was the daughter of Emmett Saunders Flanagan and Mary Jane Tabitha Shupe-Flanagan and the wife of French Clark Wesley Poole. Together French and Ada had 6 children, 5 boys and 1 girl.
In 1957 after 33 years of marriage, French and Ada separated but never divorced!
Although Ada only had a 3rd. grade education she studied to be a Registered Nurse, but 3 months before she graduated the State of Maryland decided they would no longer accept the training she received, so she had to settle for being a "Nurse's assistant". The Union Memorial Hospital had started it's own Nurse's training course and didn't want any competition.
Ada managed to buy her own home and in retirement was able to do the one thing she enjoyed most, "TRAVEL".
