Wayne E. Beck, 82, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1928, in Benton Ridge, Hancock County, to the late Herbert and Mary Williams Beck.
On Aug. 4, 1951, he married the former Mary Kathryn Norviel in Indiana, and she preceded him in death Aug. 18, 2000. He also was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
He is survived by a daughter, Robin A. (Frank) Godsil of West Liberty; three sons, Rick L. (Terry) Beck, Randy A. (Dawna Reames) Beck and Rodney L. (Tricia) Beck, all of Lewistown; seven grandchildren, Trinity (Zach Case) Huffer, Jake Beck, Brittany Beck, Jessica Beck, Alexis Beck, Austin Beck and Addison Beck; a great-grandson, Zachary D. Case; three sisters, Helen Workinger of Uniontown, Ruthie (Charles) Hammer of Columbus Grove and Leah (Curtis) Agner of Noblesville, Ind.; two brothers, Donald (Angie) Beck of Findlay and James (Margarite) Beck of Jackson, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Betty May of Lewistown and Susan Norviel of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne attended Stokes Township High School in Lakeview. He retired from Super Foods in Bellefontaine, and then worked as a custodian for Indian Lake Schools for 13 years.
A member of Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church, Lewistown, he enjoyed camping, but loved anything that brought his family together where he could spend his time with them.
Pastor Barry Baughman conducts a funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, where visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
