Mr. Beck was married in 1863 to Lillie Staers, a native of Maryland, but a resident of De Kalb County since her childhood. Mr. and Mrs. Beck have three daughters — Dora, Mary and Alta.
Mr. Beck is a member of Waterloo City Lodge, No. 307, F. & A. M. He was drafted in the war of the Rebellion, but paid $700 to a substitute.
