Services held Mon. for Sharon Woman

Services for Mrs. Iver Johnson, 63, who died last Thursday in a Northwood hospital after a lingering illness, were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the farm home in Westfield township and at 2 in the Hoff church with Rev. Edwin Peterson officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson, the former Liza Marie Peterson, was born April 19, 1887 on a farm near Hillsboro, N.D. She moved with her parents as a girl to Fosston, Minn. She returned later to the Sharon community and was married Iver K. Johnson April 4, 1906. They retired from farming in 1945 and moved to Sharon where they lived about 2 1/2 years. They spent two years in Iowa, coming back to North Dakota in May 1950. Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of the Hoff congregation and very active in the Ladies Aid until five years ago when she became partially paralyzed. A daughter Vivian Lenore, preceded her in death at the age of 2 1/2 years.

Surviving are Mr. Johnson, eight children, Mrs. Oscar (Alma) Erickson and Mrs. Ted (Nina) Mathieu, both of Minneapolis, Mrs. Oscar (Irene) Ostmo and Mrs. Leslie (Vivian) Bugbee, both of Joice, Iowa, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Minneapolis and Mrs. George Lerfald of Grand Forks. There are two sons, Iver and Julian, both of Sharon, and 11 grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters live in Canada. One of the brothers, Peter Pederson, attended the services.

Active pallbearers were James Johnson, Minor Johnson, Arnold Johnson, Carl Johnson, Erling Johnson and Odin Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Maren Froslie, Mrs. Ted Ostenson, Mrs. Lovell Johnson, Mrs. John A. Johnson, Mrs. John Haugen and Mrs. Albert Bakken.--Newspaper unknown, August 17, 1950.
