Rose, 90, was born to Frank and Stefania (Foti) De Fina. She attended public schools in Brooklyn. On September 1, 1939 she married Joseph Cardos in Brooklyn. Joseph passed away in 1951. In February 1955 she married Larry D'Anna in Queens, New York. Larry passed away in 1961. Rose worked as a sales clerk in major department stores in New York and worked at JC Penny's in Brighton for 10 years. She had lived in the New York area until 1969, in El Paso, TX, with her son Ronald for a brief period of time and then moved back to New York. She subsequently moved to Brighton near her son Stephen in 1976, where she became a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church. Rose loved to cook for her family. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games. She loved knitting and quilt making. She donated her labors of love to many church bazaars and fundraisers.

She was survived by her sons Ronald (Rosa) Cardos of Del Ray Beach, Florida, Dr. Stephen (Peggy) Cardos of Brighton, Charles D'Anna of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter JoAnn Picerne of Providence, Rhode Island; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. She was preceded by stepdaughter Irene D'Anna and by two brothers. Mass of Christian Burial held December 19 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church.
