Wesley Eugene Loar, 74, of Temperance Row, Barton, died Sunday, July 31, 1994 at his residence.
Born on March 2, 1920 in Gilmore, he was the son of the late William Loar and Desdemona (Powell) Loar. He was also preceded in death by one brother George Loar and one sister, Rose Loar.
Mr. Loar was retired from the B&O Railroad and was also a construction worker. He was a Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of the Bethel Holiness Pentecostal Church Lonaconing and the Local Labor Union 616, Cumberland. Surviving are his wife, Helen Marie (Russell) Loar; three sons, David Wesley Loar, Lonaconing; Jerry eugene Loar Walkersville; Ronnie Lee Loar, at home; one brother, John W. Loar, Lonaconing; five sisters, Julia Loar, Lonaconing; Anna Loar, Lonaconing; Mary Llewellyn, Rawlings, Ella Raie Fazenbaker, Lonaconing; Ester Wiland, Lonaconing and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Bethel Holiness Pentecostal Church on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
