Born Dec. 29, 1942, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Louise N. (Wollam) Nicholson.
Mrs. Smith worked in the potteries and also as a cook at the former Blue Top Restaurant.
She was preceded in death on March 21, 1992, by her husband, Walter L. Smith, whom she married Dec. 29, 1977.
Survivors include five daughters, Juanita Patterson of Wellsville, Amy Sue Smith Detweiler of West Point, Jodie Lynn Smith Collins, Elizabeth N. Talbott and Tanya R. Little, all of East Liverpool; four sons, Forrest Lee Nicholson of East Liverpool, David A. Smith of Florissant, Colo., Walter L. Smith, Jr. of Hammondsville and Curtis Duwayne Smith of Calcutta; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A committal service with burial to follow will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Columbiana County Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. Paul Trease officiating.
