E. R. Lemons is dead at age 44, rites Saturday

Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for Edwin Ray Lemons, 44, 1028 1/2 Sixth Street, Nevada.

Mr. Lemons died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday* at the Story County Hospital in Nevada. He had been ill for the past year.

A native of Lineville, Ia., he was born May 11, 1925. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lemons.

A former post office employee, he had lived in Nevada for 27 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW.

Survivors include his mother, Ada Lemons of Nevada; three brothers, Wayne of Bettendorf, Bill of Des Moines and Duane of Des Moines and four sisters, Mrs. Ernest Eggland of Nevada, Mrs. Wendell Vinzant of Nevada, Mrs. Loren Moss of Princeton, Mo., and Mrs. Lynn Harris of Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers and two sisters.

Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
