Mr Hiram K Turk died at his home on Blue Spring creek last Saturday night at the age of 79 years, leaving five children - Messers John Henry an Lee Turk and Mrs Cora Turk, who lived with their father; Mrs John Young, of Marrowbone, and Mrs A J Dillon, of Texas. Mr Turk was an honored citizen of Cumberland county, but three years ago bought the John R Price farm near Hiseville, one of the finest in the county and moved with his family to Barren county where he has formed many warm attachments. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and is said to have been one of the best citizens of the county. Short funeral services were held by Rev J L Reed after which the remains were interred in the Hiseville cemetery.
