Roxie was married twice. Her first marriage was to John L. Evans on Aug 13, 1885 in Gilmer Co, GA; recorded in Book 3, Page 373. Apparently they divorced and both re-married (Although I haven't found record of her second marriage, Evans family history says his second marriage was to Sarah Bradley who is buried next to him).
In 1900 census of Gilmer Co, GA, Roxie & her husband, John Medclaf (sic) are living with her father, Jackson Ayres (sic); John Medclaf is age 24, born Sep 1875; census indicates he and both parents were born in AL. John & Roxie have been married for one year. HOWEVER, that 1900 census also indicates that Roxie had given birth to three children, all of whom are reported as still living. It appears that ONE of her sons is with her - that 1900 census includes Watson E. Evans, age 9, born June 1890. His relationship to Jackson Ayers is shown as "grandson."
