Lonie was the daughter of Isaac "Ike" and Nursie Lewis. She married Joseph Leonard Fisher on June 17, 1910. They were farmers and lived in Verona. She was the youngest of 11 children and loved her flower garden. The story goes that her parents did not approve of her seeing Joseph, but after two attempts to elope, she made it out the window and married him on Jan. 17, 1910.


They had 12 children: Eldridge French Fisher born Oct. 28, 1910 married Ida Pearl Williams on June 24, 1926; Bessie Arlene born April 15, 1912 and married Vura K. Foy Dec. 15, 1934; Ray Jay Fisher born Aug. 31, 1914 and married Lois Mae Smith Feb. 1, 1947; Blanche Gaynell Fisher born Nov. 15, 1915 and married Mabry Mose Rhodes April 8, 1936; Clifton Vernon Fisher born June 18, 1917 and married Lottie Thomas Pittman Aug. 31, 1938; Cecile Mae Fisher born April 16, 1919 and married John D. Hall July 11, 1938; Ruth Josephine Fisher born Aug. 17, 1921 and married John Richard Rhodes Feb. 26, 1941; (John Richard Rhodes and Mabry Mose Rhodes are brothers). Myrtle Margaret Fisher born Jan. 17, 1925 and married Earl Grayson Marshburn May 14, 1942; Joseph Leonard Fisher born June 13, 1929 and married Essie Lee Rochelle July 20, 1946; Vernell Fisher born January 4, 1920 and married Gordon Argyle Campbell on July 16, 1949; Hughdell Fisher and Vernell Fisher twins born Jan. 4, 1930 and married Rose Grainger April 13, 1968; Nola Marie Fisher born Jan. 1, 1932 and married Charles Herbert Millen on July 18, 1954.


In 1926 the family purchased several acres from brother Vannie in Stump Sound and made their home there until 1941 when the military reservation was created by the government and their property was bought (seized) by the US Government. She died of a stroke in her home with Bessie and Myrtle at her side.
