Franklin News-Herald, Monday, Aug 27 1973:

Donald S. Morrison, 46, of 29 Bleakley St., was stricken with a heart attack while on a picnic at the Rainbow Beagle Club Sunday evening, and was dead on arrival at 8:30 pm at Franklin Hospital. He was born in Franklin Oct. 15, 1926, son of James C. and Lydia I. Flaugh Morrison.


He spent all his life in Franklin, attended public schools, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1944. He entered the Army Air Force during World War II and served with the 775th Base Unit in the Pacific Theater of Operations. When he returned home, he worked for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. When the Coaxial Cable Co. was formed 20 years ago, he left the CPT and worked for Coaxial, where he was currently chief lineman. He served as minuteman for the Franklin Fire Department since 1962, was a member of Franklin Post 476 American Legion, and a member of Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department.


On May 7, 1947, he married Charlotte Gene Hardenburg, who survives, with three daughters and a son, Mrs. Terry L. (Sara) Vogus of Oil City, Mrs. Robert A. (Marcia) Miller of Utica, and Dawn L. and Jon Duane Morrison at home; a granddaughter, Laura M. Vogus; three grandsons, Scott D. Baker, James R. and Stephen L. Vogus; his father, James C. Morrison of Franklin; eight sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Richard B. (Isabelle) Mulholland, Mrs. Ray (Ann) Seely, Mrs. James (Dora) Keener, Mrs. James (Nola) Barnes, Miss Nina J. Morrison, Marvin A., Richard B., and Kirk C. Morrison, all of Franklin, Mrs. Earl (Daisy) Hazlett of Reno, Mrs. Lee (Mildred) Kuhn of Wattsburg, and Mrs. Howard (Barbara) Donahue of Erie. Deceased are his mother, Mrs. Lydia Morrison; and two brothers, Oreen James and Kenneth W.


Services will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday with Rev. Kenneth L. McDeavitt of Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will be in Morrison Cemetery, Sandycreek Township.
