Sean Hammer, 45, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

Sean was born March 4, 1968 in Des Moines to Jerrold and Leah Hammer and graduated from Lincoln High School. He married Kelcey Sexton on May 26, 1990 and they had three children. Sean was employed with Seneca Tank and enjoyed working on airplanes at the hanger. Sean also enjoyed spending time with his son repairing vehicles and going to the auto parts store.

He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and son. Sean was always willing to help others and will be remembered for his kind and caring nature. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and always looked forward to the next hunting season. Sean will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His memory will be cherished by his wife and best friend of 23 years, Kelcey Hammer; mother, Leah Wiebe; father, Jerrold Hammer; children, Macie Hammer, Mandi Hammer and Michael Hammer; grandson, Kaiden Hammer with two more grandchildren on the way; half-siblings, Jerri TroBaugh and Erin Hammer; mother-in-law, Nancy Lamasters-Kappel and her husband, Les; father-in-law, William Sexton and his wife, Marcia and by numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Darran Perkins; sister, Masey Hammer; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Effie Hammer and maternal grandparents, Clyde and Evelyn Walker.
