Funeral services for Rubyan Barnett Baker, age 89, of Moreland, GA, will be Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the McKoon Funeral Home. Steven Craven and Joe Strickland will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan.
Mr. Baker passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, at his residence. He was born on May 22, 1924, in Gordon County, Georgia, to Andrew Jackson Baker and Lemmer Baker.
He was an active member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hall Baker of Moreland; son, Doyal Baxter Baker of Newnan. His grandchildren are Rhonda Rachelle Baker, Donna Lynn Bassett, James Kenneth Baker Jr., Tammy Renee Grimm, Amanda Kay Duncan, Tiffany Lynn Baker, Joseph Scott Baker. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Brayden Baker, Bobby Wright, Ashley Denmark, Jeremy Roberts, Jordon Roberts, Griffin Duncan, Austin Duncan. There are two great-great-grandchildren.
