TUPELO – Frank E. Robinson, 79, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Community Hospice (Darlington Oaks) in Verona following an extended illness. He was born in Lafayette County on July 5, 1934, to William H. Robinson and Ruby Betts Robinson. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard and worked many years as an automobile mechanic before retiring. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a devoted husband and loved his family and grandchildren. He never met a stranger, and enjoyed picking at people. He received joy by helping others in need. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenwood, Calif., where he lived and worked for many years.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Private burial will follow in Dorsey Cemetery in Itawamba County. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday only.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Loden Robinson of Tupelo; two brothers, William Horace Robinson (Ina) of Earp, Calif., and Bob Robinson (Karen) of Beaumont, Calif.; three sisters, Frances Todd and Virginia Jones, both of Tupelo, and Carolyn Consoli (Lou) of Upland, Calif.; five grandchildren, Melinda Shae Hays (Kevin), Bradley J. Norman (Crystal), Picoli Goysich (Matthew), Elaina Norman and Josiah Hutcheson; five great-grandchildren, Hayle Hays, Ian Denney, Aubrie Norman, Kye Norman and Samuel Goysich; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other near relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Cecil Robinson, Kathryn Cavalleri, Martha Harden, his twin brother, Arthur Robinson, Bruce Robinson; and daughter, Keitha Hutcheson.
Pallbearers will be Ian Denney, Josiah Hutcheson, Bradley Norman, Kevin Hays, Jerry Hutcheson and Matthew Goysich.
