Obit-Greenville: Oct 17 1898
Mr W.P. Bush prominent farmer who lived four or five miles north of this city, died at his home on the 9 inst. He had been in bed but a few days, and no one seemed to think that the end was near. A Negro woman, the cook, was out of the house and heard him fall, and went in, and with the assistance of Mr. Bush's little grandson got him on the bed, and applied hot applications to him as he complained of feeling cold. She sent for some of the neighbors, when they arrived he was unconscious and soon died. The deceased was suffering from cancer of the face, and it may have been that which hastened the end, though for several days he was suffering from chills
