May 10, 1923 - July 9, 2008 Juanita passed peacefully from this life on July 9, 2008 with her family at her side. She was preceded in death in 2003 by her beloved husband of 63 years Fred (Dick) Colbert.
Juanita was born in Ardmore, OK, and moved to California in 1938. She and Dick met in 1939 and were married in Gilroy in 1940. She was a resident of Hayward from 1959 until 2005 when she moved to Eden Gardens Care home in Union City. Juanita's life was dedicated to being a wife and mother.
She is survived by (names removed) daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren a brother and a sister . The family wishes to express their gratitude to Mina, her wonderful care giver for more than 3 years, and to Joe and Fely of Eden Gardens Care Home who made it possible for Juanita to live the final years of her life, and when the time came, to leave this world, with dignity and respect.
At Juanita's request, no services will be held. She asked that each of you keep her close in your hearts and prayers, each in your own way. In lieu of flowers, donations to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 39899 Balentine Dr., Suite 161, Newark, CA 94560, or your favorite charity are preferred.
