COKER | Hazel M. Bobo, age 89, of Coker, died Feb. 1, 2014, at home. On Feb. 4, 2014, the family will celebrate her life, home going and her 90th birthday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Chaplin Bill McDonald and Jonathan Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Bobo; and sisters, Mildred Hayes, Clara Norwood, and Earline Patrick.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda B. Sparks of Coker; brother, Robert Miller (Elois) of Springhill, Tenn.; grandchildren, Charlie Wise (Alicia) of Roanoke, Michael Sparks (Tina) of Northport, and Christian Sparks Ford (Jay) of Northport; great-grandchildren, Chuck, Matthew, and Erin Wise, Abby, Sarah Ellis, and Maddie Sparks, Lexi Grace, Emma Caroline and Olivia Kate Ford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel worked for Burkhalter Jewelers for over 20 years. She was a member of the Gideons International Women's Auxiliary Northport Camp. She was a lifetime member of the Coker Garden Club.
Those that knew Hazel well knew not to call between 11 a.m. to 12 noon because she was watching her story. She also loved to have her monthly mani/pedi.
She was Grandma to all who knew her. Most of all, she loved her Lord and was ready to meet Him and to be reunited with her husband of over 50 years, Clayton.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Wise, Michael Sparks, Jay Ford, Chuck Wise, Matthew Wise, Erin Wise, Abby Sparks, Sarah Ellis Sparks, Maddie Sparks, Lexi Grace Ford, Emma Caroline Ford, Olivia Kate Ford, and Bradlee Colburn.
Honorary pallbearers are Lake Robinwood Community, Burkhalter Jewelers, Gideons Women Auxiliary, Coker Garden Club, The Amazing Grays, Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Regina Harrell, BamaStuff, Wayne and Billie Ann Wallace, Cliff and Peggy St. John, Tajuana Newell, Bonnie Sanders, Malibu Nails, and Nancy Hayes.
Hazel loved flowers and are appreciated but she loved to share the word of God. Donations may be made to The Gideons International or Hospice of West Alabama.
