Mrs. Lara Eveline Gardner, 91, of Dunn died Sunday morning at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Sampson County on October 12, 1925 to the late William and Rosie Bell Autry. She was preceded in death by her husband Luther “Red” Gardner, a brother and four sisters.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.
She is survived by a son, Larry Edwards of Dunn, a daughter, Linda Hodges of Dunn, a step son, David Gardner of Raleigh, a step daughter, Carolyn Jackson of Delaware, two sisters; Rosalee Byrd of Clinton, Clarice Hall of Roseboro, four grandchildren; Debbie Summerlin and husband Ray, Johnny Hodges and wife Lease, Chastity Strickland and husband Chris, Terry Edwards and wife Carla and eight great grandchildren.
