Mrs. C. T. Clegg, of this place, died at her home at 12:30 last Wednesday afternoon from rheumatism. Mrs. Clegg had been an invalid for sixteen years during which time she suffered almost constantly from the disease which eventually caused her death. She was aged 77 years and 1 month.
Mrs. Clegg before her marriage was Miss Jane Elizabeth Stultz and was a native of Adams county. Since her marriage to Mr. Clegg in 1870 she has resided in this place where she made many friends who learned of her death with sincere sorrow. She was a member of the Methodist church and a good hearted christian woman. Her husband and six children survive her, namely: William S., of this place; Viola, Mrs. William Bodine, Philadelphia; John, of Everet, Pa.; Aletha and Heston, of this place, and Stella, Mrs. John Zerfing, of Enola. Twelve grandchildren also survive. Her brothers and sisters are Mrs. Maggie Smith, Polo, Illinois; John Stultz, Gettysburg; Mrs. Lisle Taylor, Frederick, Md.; Mrs. Sara Baker, Ortana, Pa., and Robert, of Kaiser, W. V.
Burial was made at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Bloomfield cemetery, the services being conducted by Rev. L. L. Owens.
