" Westfield-Helen R. (Ripley) Knapp, 91, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in a local nursing home. Helen was born in West Granville on December 8, 1916 to the late H. Leon and Ethel (Hall) Ripley. She grew up in West Granville, attended local schools, and was a graduate of Westfield High School. After high school she worked at Old Colony Envelope Co. She than married Arthur W. Knapp and gave birth to their daughter Jane M. Knapp in 1955. Helen was a member of the Westfield Womans Club, Blandford and Springfield Country Clubs. Helen was active in Noble Hospital and the First Congregational Church. She will be sadly missed by her family and the lives Helen touched. Helen was pre-deceased by her husband Arthur W. Knapp of 59 years on August 4, 2001 and her daughter Jane M. Knapp on November 15, 2001, her brother Kenneth L. Ripley, and a sister Edna H. Ripley."
