Union solder Hamilton Wilder is not buried in Pine Grove cemetery of Davison, Michigan. The Pine Grove cemetery has a cenotaph - a monument erected in honor

After Hamilton Wilder was captured in Knoxville, Tennessee, on January 27, 1864, he was incarcerated at Camp Sumter, the Confederate prison at Andersonville, Georgia. He died there of scurvy on September 10 of that year and was buried in the camp's POW cemetery. His grave site number is 8076, and his headstone is documented on FAG memorial # 51146096.
