He was born on Sunday, May 23, 1926 in Fordyce, Arkansas and was the son of Roland Dewey and Meece Delilah (Gill) Williams.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired auto mechanic. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, cattle farming and he never met a stranger. He married his wife, Bobbie Jean Richart on June 12, 1948 and they were married for 64 years. He was a member of the North Height Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Williams of Batesville; sons: Jim Williams of Sulphur Rock, Roy Williams of Batesville; a daughter, Rhonda Crabtree of Pocahontas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Carrol Williams of Maumelle, and a sister, Mamie Ruth Wheeler of Fordyce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Laudell Williams, Dick Williams, Jerry Williams; and sisters, Armon Atchley and Helen Stell.
