Annie Mae Starcher, 82, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2001.

Mrs. Starcher was a native of Colliers, W.Va., and a Peninsula resident since 1951. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed sewing and collecting recipes and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ralph Sylvester Starcher; a daughter, Joan Acey Starcher of Yorktown; four sons, Kimball Sylvester Starcher of Newport News, Boyd Arnold Starcher and his wife, Patty, of Hampton, Robert "Bobby" Starcher and his wife, Nancy, of Hampton, and Glenn Darrell Starcher of Hickory, N.C.; a sister, Julia Bailey of Ark; 12 grandchildren; and 24 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gale Sue Starcher.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, in Amory Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bobby Collins. The family will receive friends following the service.
