Gerald R. “Bob-Jerry” Hale, 74, of Fredonia, Mercer County, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Community Hospital, Grove City.
Born May 5, 1926, in Clintonville, Venango County, he was the son of Andrew H. and Margaret Eakin Heath Hale.
He attended the Yard School in Irwin Township, Venango County, and Clintonville High School. Mr. Hale retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Mercer after 20 years as a supervisor of the paving crew. From Sept 15, 1944, to Aug 18, 1945, he served with Army Company B, 70th IT Battalion.
He is survived by two sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and five sisters.
His wife, Bernice McKean Hale, died Sept. 1, 1965. He also was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, three brothers and a sister.
HALE — Friends of Gerald R. “Bob-Jerry” Hale, who died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at LARRY E. McKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 103 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Edward Clarke, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church of Clintonville, will officiate. Burial will be at Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
