Former longtime Bremerton resident Lawrence Jamieson, 81, died of emphysema April 10, 1999, in San Antonio.

He was born July 9, 1917, in Hutchinson, Kan., to James and Sarah (McWeeder) [*Sarah Weder] Jamieson. He was raised and educated in Hutchinson, graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1935.

On April 17, 1938, he married Ruth Hughes in Cherokee, Okla. She preceded him in death in 1988.

Mr. Jamieson worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a young man. He later worked as a salesman and supervisor for Buchanan's Bakery and as a salesman for Sunbeam and Gai's bakeries.

He was a member of the William H. Upton Masonic Lodge 206 in Bremerton and the Elks Lodge No. 1181, also in Bremerton.

Survivors include a son, Larry of Seattle; a daughter, Sally Link of San Antonio; and a grandchild, Jamie Link of San Antonio.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
