SHEFFIELD VILLAGE - James R. Weinman, age 72 and a resident of Sheffield Village, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Akron, September 24, 1941 to the late Joseph J. and Marcella B. Weinman.

James was a 1959 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He resided in Sheffield Village since 1992 moving from Avon Lake. For several years James was a master mechanic by trade and in 1988 was employed by the City of Bay Village Service Department where he worked until retiring in 2006. His interests included hunting, shooting, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Pamela A. (nee Tomlinson); their four children, James D. (Lucie) of Quakertown, Pa., Deborah Lynn Weinman of Avon, John J. of Sheffield Lake, Scott J. of Elyria; three granddaughters; and one sister Mary Jo Pitz of Cuyahoga Falls.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters Eileen Hudak, Marcia Reed, Jane Godfrey, Charlotte Pitz, Karen Shelton, and Alice Lino.

Family will receive friends 2-5 p.m., Sunday at Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Private family interment in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
