Sir William Staines was the Lord Mayor of London in 1800-1801. He was knighted and is buried in the St. Giles Cripplegate Churchyard. His bust and coat of arms are on display in the Cripplegate chapel. I am his great great grandson.

erected by William Staines, her son, mason, of the parish.

children of William and Mary Staines, who died infants.
William Staines, junr., died 13 August, 1784, aged 22 years 3 months.
Mrs. Mary Staines, mother of above, died 1 July, 1792, in her 66th year.
Elizabeth, daughter of William and Henne Maria Staines,
died 18 October, 1796, aged 8 months 3 weeks.
Lady Henne Maria Staines died 6 August, 1803, in her 35th year.
Sir William Staines, Knt., many years Alderman of Cripplegate Ward,
and Lord Mayor of London 1801, died 11 September, 1807, in his 77th year.
John Staines, son of Sir William and Lady Henne Maria Staines,
died 16 April, 1823, in his 26th year, leaving an only sister.
