Howard George Butler, 76, passed away September 21, 1994 in Salt Lake City, surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 31, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Joseph Herbert and Mabel E. Nichols Butler.

A graduate of Jordan High School. Married Afton LaVon Anderson July 28, 1943. She preceded him in death in 1962. Married Carol Clayton Webb, August 31, 1963.

Active member LDS Church; served in Elders' Quorum, Sunday School Superintendent, Bishopric counselor in Cannon Stake, High Priest group leader and numerous years in the name extraction program in West Bountiful Stake. Longtime employee of Graybar Electric Company. Served his country in the U.S. Navy for ten years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict in the Pacific area.

His family always came first in his life and he taught them by example. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed.

Survivors: wife, Carol, West Bountiful; son, Wayne (Jayna) Butler, Bountiful; daughter, Marlene (Richard) Lindsey, South Jordan; three stepchildren, Mark (Kathleen) Webb, Stamford, Connecticut; Christy (John) Pulsipher, Bedford, Massachusetts; Renee' (Kevin) Bergeson, North Salt Lake; 19 grandchildren; brothers, Alfred T. Butler, Salt Lake City; Raymond C. Butler, California; Ralph W. Butler, American Fork; sisters, Mabel (Emory) Smith, Salt Lake City; Gladys (Arnold) Arneson, Bountiful. Preceded in death by a daughter, Susan E. Butler; brother, Joseph LeRoy Butler; sister, Doris B. Boynton.

Funeral services Saturday, September 24, 1994, 12 noon, West Bountiful 5th Ward Chapel, 840 No. 800 West. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East So. Temple, Friday 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
