Rena married George Moore on November 16, 1886. They had three children:
Walter Paul b. 1888
Alma b. 1890
Ester Elizabeth b. 1902.

After their marriage, they lived on part of George's father's farm, which they cultivated.

When Rena died seven months after the youngest child was born, George moved with the two older children to California where his parents had relocated. Ester stayed in with Rena's parents until she was ten.
