Dura Devota Pfefferkorn Jenkins, 87, died Friday, July 26, 2013 in Grangeville.

Devota was born Oct. 17, 1925, on Battle Ridge near Stites, to Stanley C. and Elva (Hutchens) Potter. Devota attended elementary and high school in Stites.

Devota married Dorrence Pfefferkorn March 14, 1947. They farmed, ranched and raised their family on Maggie Creek near Kooskia from 1951 to 1999. While Dorrence was a cat skinner and road builder for several logging contractors and the Idaho County Road Department, Devota was busy being wife, mother, homemaker and working at the Selway Cafe and the Kooskia Variety Store. Dorrence died Jan. 10, 2001.

Devota married Roy Jenkins Oct. 14, 2003, and he died May 3, 2013.

Devota was active in the Presbyterian Club and senior meal site. Devota loved gardening, crocheting, quilting (she made each grandchild a quilt and an afghan), and she especially enjoyed flowers (particularly her iris bed). Dancing and card playing were her favorite pastimes. She loved the times when she and Roy would play pinochle with Arlene and Bob Routh.

Devota was preceded in death by husbands, Dorrence Pfefferkorn and Roy Jenkins; her parents Stanley C. and Elva (Hutchens) Potter; her brothers, Donald (Jack) Potter and Merland (Pete) Potter; brother-in-law Gerald Pfefferkorn; sister-in-law Lola Potter; granddaughter Ronita Fitting; and grandson Ty Pfefferkorn.

Devota is survived by her children, Elvin, Peggy, Verle, and Leah; brother-in-law Doyle & Mary Lou; and sisters-in-law Frances and June; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; stepchildren Mike, John, Doug, Ed and Jodi; along with numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step nieces and nephews.

Interment was at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
