Pearl Virginia Richmond Berry, 89, of Brooks passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, following a long illness.

Born October 15, 1924 at Sandstone, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ballard and Mary Lee Smith Richmond.

Pearl was a homemaker that enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong resident of Summers County.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Richmond and Alton Richmond; two sisters, Mildred Payne and Alice Richmond; and one infant sister, Betty Lee Richmond.

She was survived by her husband of 66 years, Arnold E. Berry Sr. of Brooks; two daughters, Janet Lynn Berry of Brooks and Anita Louise Yancey and husband Timothy of Hampton, GA; two sons, Arnold E. Berry Jr. of Brooks and Michael Landon Berry and wife Sherry of Oak Hill; two granddaughters, Melissa and Amber; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Elizabeth; four sisters, Jessie M. Berry of Brooks, Anna Berry of Brooks, Ethel Shaw and husband James of Bluefield, VA, and Edith Smith and husband Bud of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Jim Richmond and wife Mildred of Ballengee and Jennings Richmond of Brooks.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at the funeral parlors.

Burial will follow in the Berry-Adkins Cemetery, Freezeland Mountain. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
