After her marriage to Ole Lokka, they came to Patterson around 1910, making them one of the community's original settlers. They were founding members of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and the first church services were held at their home on Las Palmas Avenue before the church building was built.
She moved to Los Angeles to live with her son Sig after the death of her husband in 1929.
She was survived by three sons: Sig, Ben, and Olaf. She was also survived by three siblings: Mrs. W. J. Knutson, Dena Aalia, and E. E. Aalia.
