Obituary:
Visitation for Lena M LaFine, 83, of Kankakee, will be from 3 to 8 pm today at the Hertz-Thoma Chapel in Kankakee.
There will be a prayer service at 10:30 am Tuesday at the funeral chapel, followed by services at 11 am Tuesday at St John United Church of Christ in Kankakee. The Rev John Powers will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St John United Church of Christ.
Mrs LaFine died Saturday (Oct 27, 1990 at St Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, following a long illness.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Meyer Guttendorf, she was born March 16, 1907, in Kankakee.
She married Adrian "Jake" LaFine on Aug 23, 1924, in Kankakee. He died Dec 18, 1987.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Melvin LaFine of Kankakee, Adrian "Swede" and Mary LaFine of New Middletown, Ind, Marvin and Julie LaFine, with the Navy at New Orleans, La, and Dee and Marcia LaFine of Maumee, Ohio; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Arliss DeYoung, Linda and Danny Grace, all of Bourbonnais, Joan and Eldon Boudreau of St Anne; a daughter-in-law, Billie Jean LaFine of Kankakee; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nelda "Tutie" Johnston of Kankakee.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Keith DeYoung, five sisters and three brothers.
A homemaker, Mrs LaFine was member of St John United Church of Christ and a member of the Woman's Circle 12 Club.
She was a former employee of Bear Brand Hosiery.
