William G. Ackerman, 50, of Woodsfield, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, August 7, 1976, at his home following an apparent heart attack.
Born at Woodsfield, September 22, 1925, he was the son of Mrs. Jessie Ackerman, of Woodsfield, and the late William Ackerman.
Mr. Ackerman was a partner in the Ackerman Brothers Garage in Woodsfield. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Woodsfield Lodge No. 338, Knights of Pythias, and Monroe Post No. 87, American Legion, all of Woodsfield. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his mother; his wife, Jean Hamilton Ackerman; two daughters, Mrs. Loren (Connie) Rothacher, of Sardis, Ohio, Route 2, and Mrs. Roger (Diane) Leasure, of Lewisville, Ohio, Route 1; one brother, Harold Ackerman, of Woodsfield; three sisters, Mrs. Eloise Smith, of Woodsfield; Mrs. Ruth Farmer, in England, and Mrs. Helen Strickling, of Woodsfield; one grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Bauer and Turner Funeral Home.
Services were held in the Bauer and Turner Funeral Chapel on Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, with the Reverend Gene Kraus officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.
