Margaret O'Dell, 94, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Monday, January 19, 2004.
Margaret was born on August 27, 1909 in Lakeview, Ore. to Charles and Eugenie Faulkner. The family moved to Michigan, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in education, specializing in mathematics.
In 1935, Margaret married her husband of 65 years, D.A. (Digger O'Dell). In 1958, she and her family moved to Moses Lake, Wash. where they owned and operated O'Dell's Bi-rite drug store.
In the late 1960s, they sold the drug store and eventually purchased to Hallmark gift stores. In 1981, they sold their stores and officially "retired." Their retirement years were spent traveling with friends and spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, D.A., daughter, Patricia, and son, Carl.
Survivors include: her three grandsons and their wives, Brian and Debbie Fenske, Bruce and Vanessa Fenske and Craig Fenske; two great-grandchildren, Erin Fenske and David Mullenix; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Kearney and Billie Atkinson and Charlotte McLeod; various nieces and nephews; and a very special person to Margaret, Marlene Stewart, whose special care of Margaret during the past two and a half years provided Margaret with a quality of life her family will be eternally grateful to her for.
Memorial services in Margaret's honor will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 1 p.m. For further information, please call 765-8463.
