He was the son of Thomas Jefferson Ramey Sr & Sara (Williams)Ramey. He married Rebecca Jane Salyer on October 18 1870, in Johnson County, Kentucky. They had 9 children. He is the great grandfather of Loretta Lynn & Crystal Gayle.
