Virginia Allene Eaton

Virginia Allene Eaton fell asleep in death, Thursday evening, Jan. 23, 2014. She was 87 years old. She had lived in Ponca City for most of her life.

In recent years Virginia had resided at The Ponca City Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center while suffering thru the last, debilitating, stages of Alzheimer's Disease.

Virginia was born the daughter of James Thurman Brimm and Iva Marie Brimm, on the 25th of April, 1926, while the family was living in Granite City, Ill. Virginia was schooled in Ponca City and graduated with the class of 1944.

She was married to William Clifford "Cliff" Eaton in Winfield, Kan., on March 11, 1946. While Cliff went off to work at Continental Oil Co. Virginia became a homemaker, raising and loving their five children.

In March of 1958, Virginia was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. From that time forward, she continued to work in their door-to-door evangelizing work until she could no long understand the words on the pages of her Bible.

Virginia loved to draw and paint. To her, no picture was complete without some of God's creations, such as birds, deer, frogs, rabbits and squirrels—as her friends and family will no doubt remember.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Dorothy Fender.

She is survived by all five of her children, Michael Eaton and wife, Barbara of Grand Junction, Colo.; Carla Bouchard and husband, Steve; Robin Eaton and wife, Bonnie; Chris Eaton and wife, Valerie, all of Ponca City and Denise VanDusen, of Vancouver, Wash.; also, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

As per her wishes, her body was cremated. The arrangements were made under the direction of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors of Enid.

There will be a memorial service held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 915 North Birch, on Saturday, March 1, at 3 p.m.
