The two cemeteries of the city of Levis were opened after 1885. Before this date, all the residents were buried around the two Catholic churches: St-Joseph-de-la-Pointe-de-Levy [from 1673-1885] & Notre-Dame-de-la-Victoire-de-Levy [from 1851-1885]. About 2 years after the opening of the Mont-Marie cemetery, all of the 15,000 corpses around the 2 churches were transferred and located in a special place near the St. Anne's statue in the cemetery of Lauzon. Gabriel's body was moved to this location by the statue.
