Strathmore – March 10, 1925. Mrs. Carroll Pursell passed away at the home of Mr. & Mrs. F. T. Pursell, Monday evening about 5 o'clock as a result of a two weeks siege of smallpox. Mrs. Pursell became ill Monday, Feb. 23, when the physician was called. He pronounced the cause smallpox.
Elizabeth Pursell was born in 1897 in Fonda, Iowa. Wilt her parents she moved in 1905 to Tulare Co., California. In the spring of 1917 she was a graduate of Tulare High School. In the fall of 1917 she became the wife of Carroll Pursell of Strathmore, where she has since made her home.
To this union two children were born, Donald Lorne, age 6, and John Rodger, age 4, Besides her husband and two children. Mrs. Pursell is survived by her parents who live at Tulare, five sisters and three brothers. Burial took place Monday night about 11 o'clock at the Tulare Cemetery. Guy Webb of Lindsay was in charge of the burial.
