Harry D. Edson, 64, of Freedom, N.H., formerly of Abington, died on Jan. 21, 2014 at the Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston. He was born in Brockton son of the late Harry Edson and his surviving mother Marjorie (Snow) Edson. He was raised and educated in Abington graduating from Abington High School. He has made his home in New Hampshire for the past 10 years. Harry attended Massasoit Community College and studied Electrical Engineering. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy. For many years he had been employed as a Field Service Engineer at Butler Automatic. He was a member of the North Conway, NH Post American Legion and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping fishing and spending time at the beach. In addition to his Mom, he is survived by his children, Judith A. Edson of Kingston, Dean A. Edson of Quincy, Brian A. Edson of Plympton and Kerri L. Edson-Quinlan of Plymouth. He was the brother of Janice Harrington of OH and Peter Edson of Abington. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland from 2 - 5 p.m. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, with the Rev. Kristy Coburn officiating. Burial will follow the service in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Abington. Donations in his memory can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 44 Binney St. Boston, MA.
