Obituary

Elsie Rosaleen Abbitt, age 91, of Ellettsville,IN died Monday morning, March 5, 2012, at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington, IN. Born November 1, 1920, she was the daughter of William and Loretta (Ridgway) Abbitt. She retired from R.C.A. and was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Ellettsville High School. She loved gardening, zoos, festivals and her beloved animals. She liked reading books, comics, especially the colored ones in the Sunday paper, and watching westerns.
She is survived by two sisters, Thelma McConnell, of Ellettsville and Georgia Lucas, of Mesa, Arizona; one brother, Howard Abbitt, of Spencer, Indiana and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she help raise. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Violet Hassler and Wanda Joan Abbitt.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Day Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allan Lewis officiating. Burial will be along side her sister, Wanda Joan Abbitt in Methodist Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the charity of one's choice.
