He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lorraine Good, on Aug. 22, 1999.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Washington County Board of Education, retiring from Pangborn Elementary School. He was a life member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 694.
He is survived by one daughter, Judith Hartle of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Stephenie Rinehart and husband, Calvin, of Hagerstown, Robert Hartle and wife, Anna, of Clear Spring, Md., and Robin Trail and husband, John Jr., of Hagerstown; great-grandchildren, Cody Hartle, Lauren Bussard, Linsey Hartle and Brooke Hartle; and nieces and nephews in Hagerstown and Virginia.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Alger, and one brother, Lewis Good.
Graveside services were held at Rose Hill Cemetery; arrangements were by the Minnich Funeral Home.
